Terms and conditions of the competition
Article 1 COMPETITION ORGANISERS
- TAV Airports Holding, whose head office is located at Vadistanbul Bulvar, Ayazaga Mahallesi, Azerbaycan Caddesi, 2C, Turkey, registered in the Istanbul Trade Registry under number 590256/537838.
- Airport International Group, whose head office is located Queen Alia International Group at PO Box 39052 - 11104 Amman, Jordan, registered as a Private Shareholding Company under number 323.
- AÉROPORTS DE PARIS, a French public limited company with share capital of €296,881,806, whose head office is located at 1 rue de France, 93290 Tremblay-en-France, France, registered in the Bobigny Trade and Companies Register under SIREN number 552 016 628.
(hereinafter referred to as the “Organisers”)
The Organisers wish to run a competition called “Airport Innovation Days” (hereinafter referred to as the “Competition”).
Article 2 DEFINITIONS
"Competition": refers to the competition described in the Rules.
“General Terms and Conditions of Use” or “T&Cs”: refers to the general conditions of use of the Website, accepted by all Participants when they first log on to the Website.
“Prize(s)”: refers to the prize(s) awarded to the winners at the end of the Competition.
“Rules”: refers to these rules applicable to the Competition, a copy of which is available at: [https://www.airportinnovationdays.com].
“Website”: refers to the following website: [https://www.airportinnovationdays.com].
Article 3 PURPOSE OF THE RULES
3.1. The purpose of these Rules is to set out the terms and conditions of participation in the Competition. The Rules are intended to supplement the Organisers’ General Terms and Conditions of Use (T&Cs), which are available at [https://www.airportinnovationdays.com]. In the event of any conflict between the provisions of the Rules and those of the T&Cs, these Rules shall prevail.
3.2. Participants acknowledge that they have been informed and accept that the proposed Competition requires them to use their insight, skills and ingenuity to complete very difficult challenges. Under no circumstances will the Competition depend, even partially, on luck or chance, and thus cannot be regarded as or likened to a lottery.
Article 4 TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION IN THE COMPETITION
4.1. Participation in the Competition is completely free of charge, with no obligation to purchase.
4.2. This Competition is open to any company duly registered in its country of origin and/or to any person over the age of majority on the start date of the Competition in accordance with the law applicable in his/her country of origin who works for a company registered in his/her country's trade register, that has a valid professional insurance policy in place and can provide the evidence required to demonstrate that it complies with the laws to which it is subject.
The families and direct colleagues of members of the jury or of any person involved in organising the Competition may not take part in this Competition and may not be awarded any Prize.
4.3. The Organisers reserve the right to carry out any necessary checks on the documents and supporting evidence submitted by Participants and Winners.
Information provided by the Participants when registering for the Competition is the responsibility of the Participants, and any mistake, discrepancy or inconsistency, intentional or otherwise, in the information disclosed by Participants may result in disqualification.
Participants who cannot provide compliant information or evidence within the context of the Competition, or who provide inaccurate or false information will be disqualified, as will those who refuse to allow the collection, recording and use of their personal information where strictly necessary for the purposes of organising the Competition.
4.4. Participation in the Competition implies that the Participant fully accepts these Rules without reservation.
4.5. Only one entry per person or per company will be accepted.
4.6. To take part in the Competition, Participants must register online using the registration form on the Organisers’ Website, in accordance with the conditions set out in Article 5.
4.7. Participants must state on the registration form the category in which they wish to compete. They can choose between three categories depending on the nature of their project/solution:
- Green Airport
- Passenger Experience
- Airport Operations.
If none of the categories relate to their project, Participants can select “Open Category” on the registration form. This category enables all projects submitted to be eligible for the Competition.
Article 5 REGISTRATION AND ACCESS TO THE COMPETITION
5.1. To register for the Competition, Participants must complete the registration form available on the Website (https://www.airportinnovationdays.com), stating the following as a minimum:
- Last name or company name
- First name or company name
- Email address
- Telephone
- Project name
- City/country of residence
- To which category does the project refer: Green Airport / Passenger Experience / Airport Operations / Open Category
- Description of the project or solution
Participants must select the registration form that corresponds to the location in which they wish to compete (Ankara, Amman or Paris). Participants may only submit an application for one of these locations, to the exclusion of the other two.
5.2. By registering, Participants agree to be contacted by the Organisers via email in connection with and for the purposes of their participation in the Competition. They also agree to be contacted by telephone if they are one of the selected Participants or Winners.
5.3. The Competition is accessible 24 hours a day on the Website: https://www.airportinnovationdays.com. However, Participants are informed of the limits and constraints generally affecting websites, and accept in advance that scheduled maintenance, a malfunction or a malicious act may cause the Website to be temporarily unavailable.
Article 6 DURATION OF THE COMPETITION
6.1. The Competition will run from 10 June 2024 to 4 December 2024. This Competition is divided into several phases as described below:
- A Participant registration and proposal submission phase
- A phase in which the Organisers select the finalist proposals
- Finals to select the winners.
6.2. The duration of the various phases breaks down as follows:
- Registration for the Competition, as described in Article 5 of these Rules, is open from 10 June at 23:59 (local time).
Participants must submit their applications by:
- 15 September 2024 at 23:59 (local time), for Ankara
- 30 September 2024 at 23:59 (local time), for Amman
- 4 November 2024 at 23:59 (local time), for Paris
6.3. The finalist selection phase will take place on the day of the finals, i.e.:
- On 25 October 2024 in Ankara
- On 6 November 2024 in Amman
- On 4 December 2024 in Paris
6.4. The Organisers reserve the right to modify the duration of the Competition if operational imperatives so dictate, without the Participants being able to contest such a change or claim for any loss that may result therefrom or bring proceedings against the Organisers.
Article 7 PRINCIPLE OF THE COMPETITION
7.1. The Competition is broken down into three stages:
- A Participant registration and proposal submission phase
- A phase in which the Organisers select the finalist proposals
- Finals to select the Winners of the Competition.
Each selection phase will be based on the selection criteria set out in Article 8.
7.2. As part of the Competition, each Participant must submit an application (online via the registration form) and present a pitch at the final event, in accordance with the requirements of Articles 7 and 8 respectively.
7.3. Entries must comply with the themes and Rules of the Competition described on the dedicated Competition page of the Website [https://www.airportinnovationdays.com]. Applications must be written in the official language(s) of the location chosen by the applicant (French, English, Turkish or Arabic to the exclusion of all other languages).
7.4. In the event of any difficulties or if the submission cannot be read, it is the responsibility of the Participant in question to remedy the situation before the deadline for the submission of applications for the phase in progress, and no later than three (3) days after that date. Once this deadline has passed, the application in question will be disqualified from the Competition.
Article 8 SELECTION OF FINALISTS
8.1. Participants must submit their applications on the following Website: https://www.airportinnovationdays.com, by completing the registration form.
Their answers may be supplemented by documents. The following formats will be accepted: Word, PowerPoint, website links, photos, videos, etc.
8.2. The proposals submitted by the Participants will be evaluated according to the following selection criteria:
- Estimated budget required for the trial
- Level of maturity of the start-up (criterion assessed via the TRL (Technology Readiness Level) of the start-up)
- Quality of the project description (quality of the brief, relevance of the presentation documents provided)
- Technical proposal for the solution
- Relevance of the proposed solution to the airport's problems (added value of the proposed solution)
8.3. If none of the categories relate to their project, Participants can select “Open Category” on the registration form. This category enables all projects submitted to be eligible for the Competition.
The selection panel will assign the project to one of the other three categories: Green Airport - Passenger Experience - Airport Operations.
If the project is selected for the Final, the finalists will be asked to present a pitch to a panel of experts in the category assigned by the selection panel.
8.4. At the end of the finalist selection phase, shortlisted Participants will be required to take part in the Winner selection phase (the final). The finalists will be invited to one of three finals depending on their chosen location.
8.5. Shortlisted Participants must reply to the email sent by the Organisers announcing that their project has been selected for the final, within ten (10) days of receiving the email, to confirm their attendance. The Organisers reserve the right to disqualify the projects of any Participants failing to reply to the email.
8.6. Finalists may be asked to send a PowerPoint document (maximum 15 slides) or attend a video meeting in order to better determine the feasibility and relevance of their solution, prior to the Finals.
Article 9 SELECTION OF WINNERS
9.1. The selection phase for the winners will take place on the day of the finals, i.e.:
- On 25 October 2024 in Ankara
- On 6 November in Amman
- On 4 December 2024 in Paris
The times of the finals will be announced to the finalists nearer the time.
9.2. A Winner Selection Committee made up of several managers who work for the Organisers and who have the necessary qualifications to evaluate the applications, will determine the most appropriate Winners in accordance with the criteria set out in Article 7.3.
9.3. The finalists will be asked to present a pitch to a panel of experts in order for the Winners to be selected. The finalists will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:
- Potential of the project for the host airport
- Relevance to the selection categories
- Innovative aspect of the project
- Implementation of the project (effectiveness of the approach)
- Economic viability of the project (analysis of the target market, potential demand and short- and long-term growth potential)
- Composition of the team or start-up (experience and qualifications)
- Communication and presentation (strategic vision of the start-up, assessment of the quality of communication and the ability to convincingly present the product or service)
- References and partnerships (reference checks, potential collaborations).
9.4. The Juries in each location (Amman, Ankara, Paris) will select three (3) Winners each. The Prizes (Article 10) will be awarded during the three Final ceremonies.
Each Organiser will appoint its own Jury made up of experts with the necessary qualifications.
At the end of each of the three Final ceremonies, the Juries will be tasked with selecting the winning projects, based on both the presentation of the project and the criteria set out in these Rules.
9.5. The Organisers will inform all Participants of the names of the winners in an email sent to the address provided at the time of registration, on or before 18 December 2024. The Organisers will be free to change the dates on which the results are sent if the number of entries to be assessed so requires.
Article 10 PRIZES
10.1. Participants are reminded that the Prizes referred to in this Article will be awarded subject to the terms and conditions set out in these Rules.
10.2. The winners in each category, selected by the Juries at the end of the Finals, will be awarded a Prize. At the end of the competition:
- The Amman Airport Jury will select 3 winners:
- 1 Winner in the Green Airport category (Sustainable development and Ecological transition)
- 1 Winner in the Passenger Experience category (Improving the passenger experience) and
- 1 Winner in the Airport Operations category (Optimisation of airport operations).
- The Ankara Airport Jury will select 3 winners:
- 1 Winner in the Green Airport category (Sustainable development and Ecological transition)
- 1 Winner in the Passenger Experience category (Improving the passenger experience) and
- 1 Winner in the Airport Operations category (Optimisation of airport operations).
- The Groupe ADP Paris Jury will select 3 winners:
- 1 Winner in the Green Airport category (Sustainable development and Ecological transition)
- 1 Winner in the Passenger Experience category (Improving the passenger experience) and
- 1 Winner in the Airport Operations category (Optimisation of airport operations).
10.3. The Winners will be informed of the availability of their Prize in an email sent by the Organisers to the address provided in their application within fifteen (15) days of the date on which the Jury determines the winners. In the event that a Winner does not claim their Prize or does not manage to access services comprising the Prize, for reasons beyond the control of the Organisers, within two (2) months of receipt of said email, the Organisers reserve the right to declare that the Prize was not awarded to that Winner. The awarding of the Prizes under the conditions set out in these Rules will, where applicable, be documented contractually between the Winner and the Organisers. The contract, drawn up in accordance with the Organisers’ general practices, will set out the terms and conditions applicable to the awarding of the Prize, which will include the right to verify that the Prize has been used consistently with the Participant's proposals and the right to request reimbursement of the value of the Prize in the event that the Prize is used fraudulently or improperly. The Winners will not have the option to request the payment of an equivalent amount in euros of their Prize from the Organisers.
10.4. The 3 (three) Winners - 1 per category - selected by each of the Juries will be awarded the following Prizes, in accordance with the criteria for selecting the Winners set out in Article 9.3.
Prize awarded to Winning Project No. 1:
- The implementation and funding of a POC at the airport in the location chosen by the Participant at the time of registration, to the value of €XX excluding VAT (TBC).
- For the Winners in Ankara and Amman: a business trip to Paris to attend the final of the Competition - financed by the Organisers to a maximum of €1,200 (including the flight to Paris, 1 night in a hotel for a maximum of 2 people, the location of which will be specified at a later date).
- Media exposure guaranteed by the partners of the Organisers in relation to the Competition. The Winners will be mentioned in press articles and communications about the Competition.
Prize awarded to Winning Project No. 2:
- Business support through mentoring or an incubator, guaranteed by the Organisers in the location chosen by the Participant at the time of registration.
- For the Winners in Ankara and Amman: a business trip to Paris to attend the final of the Competition - financed by the Organisers to a maximum of €1,200 (including the flight to Paris, 1 night in a hotel for a maximum of 2 people, the location of which will be specified at a later date).
- Media exposure guaranteed by the partners of the Organisers in relation to the Competition. The Winners will be mentioned in press articles and communications about the Competition.
Prize awarded to Winning Project No. 3:
- Guaranteed media exposure by the partners of the Organisers in relation to the Competition. The Winners will be mentioned in press articles and communications about the Competition.
- For the Winners in Ankara and Amman: a business trip to Paris to attend the final of the Competition - financed by the Organisers to a maximum of €1,200 (including the flight to Paris, 1 night in a hotel for a maximum of 2 people, the location of which will be specified at a later date).
10.5. The winners in Ankara and Amman will have the opportunity to attend the Final in Paris on 4 December 2024, where they will present their solutions. Winners must make prior arrangements to obtain a visa to travel to France. The Organisers will not be held responsible in the event of the Winner not going on the business trip, regardless of the reason for this.
Attendance by the Ankara and Amman Winners at the Paris Final on 4 December 2024 is not a mandatory condition for participation in the Competition.
Article 11 INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
11.1. For the purposes of their Entry and more generally in the context of the Competition, Participants may use intellectual property rights belonging to them or which they are contractually authorised to use and represent.
11.2. Each Participant remains the owner of the intellectual property rights belonging to them as of the date of their registration on the Website [https://www.airportinnovationdays.com]. Similarly, the intellectual property rights of third parties remain the property of those third parties. Neither the Organisers, nor the Participants, nor third parties shall acquire, in the context of the Competition, any rights over each other’s pre-existing property.
11.3. Without prejudice to the foregoing, Participants expressly authorise the Organisers to use the content of the entries solely for the purposes of running and promoting the Competition, or in any other form of communication. In accordance with these terms and conditions, Participants grant the Organisers the rights to use, record, represent, reproduce, translate and/or communicate some or all of their entry, by any means, for promotional or commercial purposes or simply for information purposes, without any geographical limit and for the duration of the Competition and for a period of one year thereafter.
The Participants shall indemnify the Organisers against any claims by third parties relating to an infringement of their intellectual property rights in connection with the running of the Competition. The Participants are hereby informed that any claim by a third party against the Organisers may, in the event that the Participant in question does not immediately resolve the issue, result in them being disqualified from the Competition, without prejudice to any legal proceedings that may be brought to protect the Organisers' interests.
Article 12 COMMUNICATIONS
Each Participant authorises the Organisers, for a maximum period of two years, in the event that they are pronounced the Winner of the Competition, to use their last name, first name, brand name and company name used to enter the Competition, their town, city and department of residence as well as, where applicable, their image in any promotional material (excluding the purchase of space), on the Organisers’ websites and any affiliated website or medium, without such use granting entitlement to any remuneration or compensation whatsoever other than the awarded Prize. The Participants also authorise the Organisers to reproduce their company name, trading name and logo under the same conditions.
Article 13 LIABILITY
13.1. The Organisers may not be held liable for any disruption to the Internet network or for difficulties accessing the Website due to a high volume of people or Participants visiting the Website.
They may in no way be held liable for interruptions of communications or access, loss of data, computer viruses, or any direct or indirect damage whatsoever that may be caused to Participants before, during or after their participation in the Competition.
In addition, the Organisers may not be held liable for any event that is not directly or indirectly attributable to them, including any delay in the delivery of the Prize, the Participant's inability to submit the documents required in connection with their entry, or the occurrence of any force majeure event that may cause the Competition to be disrupted, altered or cancelled.
13.2. The Organisers may not be held liable for any incident that may occur in connection with the services provided as Prizes or their use by the Winners or their beneficiaries.
13.3. The Organisers reserve the right to modify, extend, suspend, or cancel the Competition without notice, particularly in cases of force majeure. They may in no way be held liable for this and no compensation of any kind may be claimed by the Participants on these grounds.
Article 14 CONFIDENTIALITY
14.1. For the purposes of this Article, “Confidential Information” means all information of any nature whatsoever, including administrative, commercial, scientific, technical, financial, tax, legal or economic information, whether tangible or intangible, that has been, is or will be communicated by the Organisers to the Participant, directly or indirectly, and, without limitation, orally or in writing, via any medium whatsoever, on paper or digitally.
The following do not constitute Confidential Information:
- Information currently accessible or that becomes publicly accessible without any breach of the terms and conditions of the Rules by the Participant
- Information legally held by the Participant prior to its disclosure by the Organisers
- Information resulting neither directly nor indirectly from the use of all or some of the Confidential Information
- Information validly obtained from a third party authorised to transfer or disclose such information.
14.2. The Participants undertake, for the duration of the Competition and for a period of five (5) years after the end of the Competition, as provided for in Article 5:
- Not to use the Confidential Information for any purpose other than participation in the Competition in accordance with the Rules
- Take all necessary, useful and reasonable precautions to protect the Confidential Information
- Not to disclose the Confidential Information to anyone, by any means whatsoever, except to other people working on their Project.
14.3. The Organisers may disclose some or all of a Participant's Confidential Information to all of their subsidiaries within the meaning of Article L. 233-1 of the French Commercial Code or to a service provider acting on their behalf or on behalf of their subsidiaries.
14.4. The Participants and Winners authorise the Organisers to share and use the information provided in the registration forms with the Organisers’ partners, namely Havas and Sifted, for communication purposes and to promote the Competition in the media.
14.5. At the end of the Competition, whether it is concluded or cancelled, the Participants must promptly return to the Organisers all Confidential Information obtained in connection with the Competition, regardless of the medium on which it is contained. The Participants may not keep any copies in any form whatsoever without the express prior written consent of the Organising Company.
Article 15 DATA PROCESSING AND PRIVACY
15.1. Participation in the Competition requires the Participants to share the personal data referred to in Article 5. ADP may also process data (for example, details of the Participants, their experience and qualifications) that Participants have voluntarily included in their application.
15.2. This data may be amended at any time by the Participants.
15.3. The data referred to in this Article is processed by automated means within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (the “GDPR”), given its extraterritorial scope, for which the Organisers alone will define the means and purpose of such processing and shall accordingly be the data controller within the meaning of the aforementioned regulation.
The purpose of this processing is:
- to organise intermediation between the Participants and the Organisers
- to meet the needs of organising the Competition and to identify, communicate with and keep a record of exchanges with the Participants
- to enable the Organisers or a third party to carry out anonymous market research
- to select the finalists and Winners.
15.4. The Organisers are the recipients of this data. In this respect, the Organisers undertake to protect all the personal data of the data subjects, and such data shall be collected and processed by the Organisers in the strictest confidentiality in accordance with prevailing laws.
15.5. The Participants are entitled, at any time, to:
- object to the collection and processing of their personal data by the Organisers
- object to the communication of such data to third parties
- access all personal data processed by the Organisers
- rectify, update and delete their personal data processed by the Organisers.
To exercise their rights, Participants must send a registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt clearly stating their name and the purpose of their request to the relevant data controller, i.e. to:

For the attention of the Data Protection Officer
15.6. With regard to the potential installation of cookies on the Participants’ computers when browsing the Organisers’ website, the Participants are invited to consult the Rules and the General Terms and Conditions applicable to Competitions on the Website [https://www.airportinnovationdays.com], which they must accept before entering the Competition.
Article 16 RULES
16.1. The Participants must fully and unreservedly accept and comply with all the provisions of the Rules in order to participate in the Competition and be awarded a Prize. The Organisers reserve the right to disqualify, immediately and without any compensation, any Participant who fails to comply with this provision.
16.2. The Organisers reserve the right to change these Rules at any time, including during the Competition. Participants do not need to be notified of any such changes for the Rules to continue to be valid and enforceable. Participants are invited to check the Rules regularly. Participants expressly waive any claim or dispute relating to any change made to the Rules by the Organisers.
The Rules are also freely available for consultation online on the Website [https://www.airportinnovationdays.com]. A copy of these Rules may be requested free of charge.
Article 17 INDEPENDENCE
Registration for and participation in the Competition in no way creates a relationship of subordination between the Organisers and the Participants.
Article 18 COMPLAINTS
18.1. Complaints must be made by Participants in writing within thirty (30) days of the end date of the Competition.
18.2. Complaints regarding the functioning of the Website [https://www.airportinnovationdays.com] must be made in writing to the following address:

18.3. Complaints relating to the running of the Competition and the delivery of the Prizes must be sent in writing to the following address:

18.4. All complaints must include the following information, failing which they will be rejected:
- The Participant's full contact details (last name, first name, address, postcode, town/city and email address)
- Details of the Competition in question and the chosen location
- A clear and detailed description of the reasons for the complaint.
Article 19 MEDIATION
19.1. In the event of a dispute extending beyond a period of fifteen (15) days after the Participant makes a complaint, the Organisers and the Participant agree to undergo mediation before any legal action is taken.
19.2. The party wishing to undergo mediation must notify the other party by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt, stating its intentions and indicating its reasons.
19.3. If the parties fail to reach an agreement within thirty (30) days of receiving the registered letter, the parties are free to take legal action.
Article 20 GOVERNING LAW
The Rules and the Competition are governed by French law. In the event of any disagreement regarding the application or interpretation of these Rules, and if no amicable settlement is reached, all disputes will be submitted to the Court of Justice of Bobigny in France.
